Hino Sensei is a browser extension that helps users learn Japanese by analyzing sentence structure, grammar, and vocabulary. This extension operates entirely on your device and does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to our servers.

Data Collection

We do not collect any data.

Hino Sensei:

  • Does not have a backend server

  • Does not collect personal information

  • Does not track your browsing activity

  • Does not use analytics or telemetry

  • Does not share any data with third parties

Local Storage

All extension data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's sync storage API. This includes:

  • Your Gemini API key (entered by you)

  • Your analysis history

  • Extension preferences and settings

This data never leaves your device except when:

  1. API Requests to Google Gemini: When you analyze Japanese text, the selected text is sent directly from your browser to Google's Gemini API using your personal API key. This communication is between your browser and Google—we have no access to it. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles API requests.

Your Control

You can delete all locally stored data at any time by:

  • Removing the extension from Chrome

  • Clearing extension data via Chrome settings
